Queens Wharf repairs
New Zealand: The real champions
Between 9 Sep and 23 Oct 2011, New Zealand became the center of the rugby universe, with 20 teams vying for the title of Rugby World Cup champion. In preparation for this huge international event, Auckland’s waterfront area (designated ‘Party Central’) underwent some redevelopment to deal with the large influx of fans, and BBR Contech was associated with the repair and strengthening of Queens Wharf.
The client was delighted with the results and the fact that BBR Contech completed the highest volume repair project in New Zealand in such a short time frame made for a very impressive performance.
More importantly the whole nation was delighted with the Rugby World Cup results as New Zealand, after 24 years of suffering retained the title and become World Champions. Finally light, peace and relief for a long-suffering New Zealand. A country that has been hemorrhaging badly through the devastation of the Christchurch earthquake and Pike River mining disaster can find relief in the fact that it is again officially the world’s best in what it does best – playing, living and breathing rugby.
